I am hoping that a combination of the increased friction provided by the glue and the wider clamp will be sufficient. In 6 years of 19T ownership not once did I ever take that hose off at the water pipe branch end.

Popped by HLM for a 2nd opinion on oil colour/consistency - Billy seemed confident that I'd got away with it. Oil colour is good - I was just worried about a few small bubbles I saw in the oil on the dipstick.

Well Betsy has run all the way to Portsmouth today - no warning lights & levels remain pretty constant. I have though a small suspicion that there is a small oil weep somewhere - as I noticed some engine oil on my drive way this morning. If the leak is showing on the pavement where I parked her tomorrow - then I will know for sure. However this may not be related to the water pipe incident.

Few things to sort out. Got to send my recirc branch pipe off to get it welded on to the turbo/MAF inlet pipe. It's all cut & ready.

Been talking to ASNU about injectors & a fuel pump. 650CC seems to be about where I need to be, with a 300lph pump.

Need an oil change. I haven't seen any leakage but will need to check it on the ramp. A/C needs regassing.

If you're talking to ANSU about injectors ask them about their fancy ones that give a similar spray pattern to a direct injection unit, I spoke to them at the Autosport about them, they should give you a bit better fuel consumption as you get much better atomisation.

ASNU are the ones we've been discussing - http://www.asnuinjectors.co.uk/

    Hamish also talked to them.

Every cloud has a silver lining

I sent my branch pipe & main MAF>>Turbo pipe to Graeme to have it welded. According to NILES - thankfully no longer with us (at least on here) - Buyer beware & all that - he said the MAF>>Turbo pipe he made me was SS304, so I didn't know you can't weld alloy & stainless together.

I remade the branch pipe out of a piece of SS304 I bought - only to find the little scumbag lied about the material. http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthre...pipe-completed

TBH it is difficult to tell. The gauge was quite thick - it looked stainless, but Graeme pm-ed me to say - Sorry but no.

So I have sent my original branch pipe.

On the upside - I am glad I decided not to use the forged rods I waited for 3 months for from Niles at the top of last year.

Just so you might want to do something like this yourselves...

I used this software to print & cut the branch & the hole in the main pipe. http://www.harderwoods.com/pipetemplate.php

Just dial the numbers in (I set mine at 45 degrees) print it & stick it to the pipe with sellotape.

I dremelled the branch with a cutting tool a fraction behind the line

and smoothed it with a file head. Beading was created with the beading tool.

Similar process for the hole - Cut...

    Smoothed off

Just as an aside you will need an upgraded fuel pump (you may already have fitted one so forgive me if I've missed that) and Coordsport supplied my Deatschwerks DW300. It has lasted longer than my Walbro 255 (which I broke to be fair) and has put up with me running all sorts of methanol mixtures through it (in the name of science).
