I have bought an rica d ecu. The correct spec for my car. Plugged it in and the car wont start. Although it is turning over and trying to start.
Wat is the correct nethod to change the ecu?

I don't break gearboxes. Just engine mounts.............
i've never done anything special tbh
My car is a 95 m reg. Would it make a difference if the ecu cameoff a later car

I think there are 2 different tpes of ECU depending on whether it's a OBDI or OBDII car, I'm sure someone will confirm or deny this.
Yes indeed it will make a difference, I believe yours is on Bosch 4.3 software which changed to Bosch 4.4 from 96-98. You can read more on this and find general tuning guidelines at the excellent www.wothrline.com site. The owner/writer is a Swedish friend of mine who first tuned my Volvo 850 about 5 years ago. He knows what he is talking about for sure.
Thanks mate, I have not been too bad was up in Yorkshire over Christmas, how about you, all well with you?
Yes thanks mate, still tweaking the car You got that blanking plate fitted yet?

I believe there's a workaround for the immobilizer, on one of Merc85's recent threads, posted by 960Kg iirc.
