What system is in my 57 T5 SE??

    Hi all,
Finally got myself a v70 but being x plod it has no stereo. I didn't realize that these cars had such a varied selection of sound systems. Behind the dash there are 3 block connectors. One green one which I assume is the power etc a small 2 pin grey one which I'm assuming to be an areal. Finally a big grey one which I'm assuming is the speakers, this one has 4 pairs of wires. working off the principle that its one speaker for 2 wires this = 4 speakers. All I'm getting at is which system is in mine and how can I tell. I want to get on an fit my radio as I'm bored being alone with my own thoughts.

    Regards

    John

an aftermarket stereo may well be cheaper and easier to fit/get working.

That's what I have but need an adaptor lead. I went to Halfords and they're one wasn't right. They needed o know what sound system was in there to begin with to order the right adaptor lead for that and the arieal. All the ones that I'm looking at specify non Dolby and without an amp. Will consult the book of lies and see if I can find where the amp would be. There are no speakers in boot if that helps anyone.

ex plod won't have had dolby mate. the dash speaker will be disconnected and the ones either side of the tailgate wont be there at all. if there was an amp, i think it usually hides under the drivers seat and the subwoofer lives in the spare wheel well.
if halfrauds have to order an adapter, youre probably better off getting one off ebay.

    just my thoughts.

    hope this helps a bit.

No mate that's bang on. I was assuming it would have anything at all upmarket just thought it'd be worth checking. Didn't realise that was a speaker thought it was just a bit of trim.

Just ask the dealer, they will tell you what should be in your car from factory build.
