    Was v70RAWD available in red??

I have been offered a mint 1999 in "standard" red!
The car is mint and looks really nice. However i have NEVER SEEN OR HEARD of this car availble in red?
Only red i know of is venetian red metallic and the lighter red metallic. No standard colour.

Can this be confirmed by anyone??

10 bids on it already, and I'm not one of them as the colour struck me as strange.

On the DVLA vehicle check it comes up as a red V70, but I think it's the shade of red that is the concern. This will be a phase 2 won't it?

right just spoke to the guy, the car is a phase 2 blue top, the colour code is 601 on the chassis plate which is Classic / Signal Red and found on 240.740.760.960.850.V70.S70.C70.S60, sounds like an ok guy and expecting around £1800 for it, hpi comes up as 2 plate changes (private plates) there u go done the hard work lol

I have seen some more for sale in the US. I dont believe that car is resprayed, but why does no one mention this colour and as you guys can see on this thread, even we as volvo nerds are doubting the originality of the combination v70r awd and 601 red.....!

Think this for certain makes a red R more rare than the often mentioned as ultra rare and desirable lazerblue, what do you think.
