I know its trivial but is thier any chance you could write a step by step on this? Did your mate remove the chrome, undercoat , paint then lacquer?
    Thanks

I have my wheels in a gunmetal colour, not sure but i don't think they are as dark as yours!

I am also planning colour coding the bump strips as yours looks totally different with it been the facelift model, also planning a refurb on the David Dickinson leather!
    Hi Pavlie,

To remove the badges I used some strong thread looped multiple times to make a strong cord to basically saw behind the badges. Takes time but safer than a bit of masking tape wrapped around a screwdriver lol. I can find out later what the thread was. I don't think my badges were a total match for the wheels but I just asked my mate for the darkest gunmetal grey. I think Black would have been too dark.

Oh and as for the AWD badge I never liked it in the first place plus who wants to advertise the fact it's 4WD. Makes it more fun when you surprise the Jap brigade at the lights.

I'm at Charlwood Volvo now waiting for the exhaust to be fitted. I'm only having a Cat-Back fitted today. I might be going for a remap and the DP at a later date. I'll update you later on my thoughts on it.

The badges were still attached to the white backing strips you get when you buy them. All my badges were bought off EBay. I believe he sprayed some form of etch primer first to bind to the chrome. I don't think he will have rubbed them down first as he wouldn't have been able to do the sides of them and the edges. Then once the etch primer was dry he sprayed the grey, left to dry and then the lacquer. He only charged me 20 quid for the job so there can't have been much work involved
    Lol.

As pedro says ,t cut the chrome off and you will be left with the black plastic.
No need to paint if you just wanted that colour.

Think I managed to get the S60 for about 18 quid and the new style spaced out Volvo was around £25.

You really need to give T5_Monkey some styling tips.
