    I don't think I've seen another 302mm 4-pot kit, just the 330mm Brembo one?

302mm is just the disk size - fitted as standard on x70 series after 1999 IIRC.

But the x70 302mm caliper won't bolt up on the 850 hub will it? (from memory of reading loads and loads of brake threads!)

Or can you bung x70 302mm discs and calipers straight onto an 850?

How come the x70 302mm carrier fits the 850 but the x70 302mm caliper doesn't? Or isn't that what you mean (I read that as you mean you put the 850 caliper on the x70 carrier)?

If you can fit the x70 carrier to the 850 hub they must both be the same 106mm bolt spacing, so I would have assumed the whole lot would just swap - what is the difference between the x70 and 850 hub that stops a straight swap?

no - no - no. I meant you can upgrade the 850 to use 302mm disks, by adding the x70 carrier (& incidentally lengthening the flexible brake lines).

There is nothing to prevent the straight swap. It is a well understood upgrade for 850 owners.

The whole point of the thread is that you are offering more caliper pistons. However I don't see much point on staying with my 302mm disks if I am going to the expense & hassle of changing to your BBK. Hence that is why I want the 330s you are making.

I don't see much of a market for your 302 kit purely based on the 4 to 1 piston advantage over the Stock caliper, well at least not from a 70 series ownership perspective. Perhaps more 850 peeps will want them, but again surely they'd just go to 330mm and have done with it?

That's why I'm gauging the level of kit people are interested in - for most cars the 300mm/T20/16" wheel and price is about the maximum which was why I tended that way, if the masses here want to take the extra step to 330mm/T30x/17" wheel then we'll take that route instead!

There are more advantages to a performance caliper than simply the piston count, a huge weight saving is a major part and this improves the handling - but everything is a trade off, 330mm discs are not light.

Real world performance is defined more by "the most suitable compromise" rather than taking anything to the extreme - examples include, many cars handle better with smaller wheels, bigger turbos are often slower due to the increased lag, full race pads are no good on a hillclimb car as you'll go straight off at the first corner with cold brakes, and so on.

But at the end of the day, if most people want bigger than 302mm, and most people have 17's (and don't keep a set of 16's with slicks for trackdays), and most people can afford the T30x caliper, then that's what we'll do!

Most members on here who are serious about track action are all on 17" , 18" or even 19" wheels already.

I think the 330s will be the best compromise for me.

What I personally want is brakes that work as good as possible that fit under my 17 titans. Fitment should be as easy as possible, I.e no need for wheel spacers, I would think there are plenty of other who would like the same, 302s for me as wobbly says would be a no no. 320 plus at a guess would be great with improved calipers

I would like the 330 mm kit as long as it fits behind my standard T-5R Titans. If not, the 302 mm 4 pot kit would be fine.

    Thanks
