    Question Remap for the T5.

I'm having a remap on my p1 V70 T5 done later this month, and thinking of upgrading the brakes. As I'm new to all this, please can I ask for advice on the best and at the same time, most cost effective disc/pads/calipers that I should consider.

302mm stock discs, Ferodo DS-series pads, new fluid, check all the hoses, check no calipers sticking, done.

Do you want bigger brakes or just better than whats on currently?

For road use i think that good pads and fluid are what give the best benefits relative to cost.

Brembo discs (OEM) or similar with 5.1 fluid, braided brake lines and something like ferodo pads, should be enough for road driving.

Just better than what's on with the increase in power, but I assumed that means going bigger. It will only be road driving, so your suggestion is worth me considering thanks, if it gives me more stopping power than I have now.

I'll have a look tomorrow, whilst experimenting with the alloys that I posted about the other day. Problem is, I have to do it outside, and it will not stop raining here. Please send me some sunshine!!

For road use your standard 302 size discs should be fine (as long as they are a good make, with plenty left on them).
If you don't want to spend to much, go for good pads and good brake fluid and make sure your pipes are in good condition. Then if you want to spend a bit more, braided pipes do make a difference.

Been down in the West Midlands for 2 days and seen the sun and hardly any rain. Came back up this afternoon, and I'm not joking, as I passed Bury on the M66, It suddenly became cloudy and wet. I knew I was nearly Home! I have pet ducks in my back garden and they're loving it!

I ain't that far off. BTW - tuning your car & increasing the power does not make it any heavier.

However having good brakes is always re-assuring.

If there's a mid-week meet, and I'm down there, then I could make that.

I'm been guided my local Volvo idependent to be honest, and he has a lot of experience in modding these motors, and I haven't! Popped in today, and he thought that the remap with the upgrade on the brakes are the next mods that I should be looking at. Appreciate what you're saying about the weight of the car.
