    Retro-Fit Park Assist

I have been making enquiries and intend to retro-fit OEM Park Assist (reversing sensors).

I have priced the parts which are reasonable (for Volvo), however i am aware that on a 2005 up, like mine it is integrated via (Canbus) to enable it to mute the radio.

This requires a software download to be installed in the car for it all to function, no software, no worky....
I contacted the local dealer who quoted a staggering £76.00 to do this.
I didn't see that one coming, I am going to contact an independant specialist who has VIDA and get a second quote.

Has anyone previously retro-fitted reverse sensors and is that quote reasonable? It seems excessive considering i am doing all the donkey work.

I would not consider any other systems, if i do it it will be genuine parts/system or not at all.

I can't advise you on the costs of retro fitting the aid, as my car came with the reversing aid already fitted. If you fill the back of your car like I do, then this feature is invaluable. However, I find the V70 fairly easy to reverse anyway, as the tailgate window is very low. My last one didn't have this fitted, and I could reverse very close to objects without touching.

Your obviously a brilliant driver! LOL.

I am soon to install my reversing camera number plate holder which plugs directly into my iMiV. I will post a thread if all goes well with some piccys too.
