No such thing as adverse publicity?

This sorry saga may knock that idea right on the head, going by the findings reported...

Try looking on the volvoforums site. Do a search in the 850/ s and v70 section and a thread on "what power will I get from a V70 T5 R AWD". That is silly....

interesting topic, with 20 yrs motor trade / warranty claims / motor sport experiance regards your drop links. what warranty do you get with these. thats easy NONE.

regardless of who fitted them the item carries no warranty as you say they are adjustable drop links. these therefore are a non standard item which sole purpose is intented really for track use not road use. any parts that are designed for a race track carry no warranty as can be damaged by so many things. even though they can be fitted and used on the road.
many parts i've bought over the years that are more than up to road use as designed for a track and have a disclaimer on the packet that states for motorsport use which means no warranty has to be offered.

if however if these are designed just for road use then you only get 12 months warranty if fitted by a garage ( VAT registered at that) and they are a direct replacement for orginal part. if not fitted as standard then its a modification and manufactuer can bow out of replacing it as yet again its non standard.

not nice but has always been like this i'm afraid. you can argue the toss all you want but thats it.

companies can choose to replace them if they see fit or to uphold good customer service but are not obliged to on any occasion as said by many before this item is wear and tear and carries no real warranty due to so many factors.

hope you get gist of what trying to say and feel for your loss in the pocket but if you took this to court as felt that strongly about it think you would be loosing even more money due to above reasons.
but best of luck whatever way it goes

because it just had to be done

Hi Streaky

I Was sold these as an upgrade there was never any mention of track use only! The garage supplied & fitted them with recommend settings set to their specification and they failed with in 12 months! in fact a lot sooner than 12 months then the guy told me it could well be the front subframe mounts luckily for me my local volvo dealer found the problem!

Greg
