Unlocking a closed thread. - Sunday 28th February 2010, 21:02

A fellow member has mentioned that a how too thread I did 5 years ago (5 years.....where did that go !) would be useful to him but the pictures have got lost (I think it happened when we had the crash). Is there anyway to unlock the thread so I can edit it and replace the pictures ?. The thread in question is:

I have an "edit" button but then I would

Maybe it doesn't recognise you as the original author - I don't know. TBH if you want to put the images up online somewhere and then tell one of the mods which image to link where, we can fix it for you? That's the only way I can think of reviving it, other than just creating afresh (which might be easier, actually!)

Looks like a useful thread. Cheers for your efforts.

The whole how-to section was locked for new threads and editing, think it was because the wrong threads were getting posted in there. I think Justin or one of the mods has to unlock the section. If you try and post a new thread it says user has wrong access level.

It's only been 5 years TC lol !. Any hoo, I've decided to do the whole post again but when I go to start a new thread I'm getting the following text.

nobananas, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I can post fine in other sections, what's going on !!!

Probably the "How To" section is locked for mods / admins only. Post in General Tech and we'll move it over.
