As you may have read , the M.O.T is due next week on the T5 estate and they seem to be getting a bit hotter on the ABS light spotting recently .
So today I finished the second attempt at fixing the ABS on the V70 T5 Est, I didt feel up to it but did't have much choice as the car is booked in tiomorrow morning ( cheers Mrs Mas).
The 1st attempt a few months ago defo did something as it went from no ABS to intermittant but I wasnt keen on attempt NO.2
Anyway , the result seems to be it's fixed proper ! all lights are out and ABS is actually working. Mrs Mas kept badgering me saying " Wobbly Dave says its definately worth another go blah blah blah " so Wobbly , you are in part responsible for both the muscles I have pulled tring to get those 4 bolts back in ! and the car being sorted
One tip I would give is , many years ago I was an apprentice electronics engineer proper, and this was in the days when everything was soldered not made in China, plugged in and thrown away. I still found it extremely difficult to solder some of those pins and removing all the silicone rubber coat prior to solderig was 'very' important to be able to get the pins properly hot. If your not keen on soldering / tiny work get someone else to have a go. I carefully re soldered every exosed pin on te top side of the PCB this time .
Cheers to those who have advised and regards to all
Mas
