    New look Intercooler

As some of you may remember I was asking a while ago what paint to use on my I/C to smarten it up as it was an eye sore.

Well I decided in the end to order that black radiator paint that I saw Frost.co.uk.

As yesterday was such a loverly day, I decided to break out the heavy artillery and have a bash. I rubbed down the flaky paint that was already on there. Most of the old paint just fell of by picking at it.

I masked up around the area and set about spraying. What A difference a bit of paint makes. See for your selves.

Looks 100 times better. It may not be perfect, but its fine for me. I still have a good half of that can left over too.

Did you remove the bumper? Or was it a tape & newspaper job?

Need to think about doing mine as the paint is looking very chipped.

Yes, it was indeed a 'tape and newspaper job'. I think it worked rather well.

Cool. I have a difusser bar in the way of my IC, so I may have to pull the bumper off.

May be that excuse I want to fit some big air horns....

Think I need the bumper off for the best placement anyway.

I left the bumper on as I would not know where to start. My previous car, the Impreza, I removed the front bumper so I could fit some HID ballasts and it took me the best part of half a day just to remove it. When I removed the HIDS (due to lots of light scatter) it only took me 30 mins to remove it.
