    puzzled?!?!?!? t5r manual headgasket???

    hi guys on a recent jolly out to manchester i found my car on the way home at a steady 70mph overheating so i got to the services n pulled over,just as i got in to the services my car starts smoking and cuts out and the steam poors through the vents i leave it to cool down and try to restart "no compression" so i get the car to mine strip the engine and i can find no visible signs of detanation or when checking the bores visually and with a feeler gauge theres no play or signs of damage im really puzzled as to what it could be.im putting a new re-con head, head gasket and belts on this weekend so i myt just hav2 see but any advice or therories please msg as im a bit lossed with this 1 ....cheers

    If you had steam coming through the vents then the heater matrix has probably gone, check the carpets in the footwells to see if they're wet. Not sure why it would be cutting out though.
