Essex one's were nt, my friend works at one of their workshops.
As has been said, they were different, but just fittings, brakes and suspension.
I doubt any would be chipped as they wanted 150k out of them, and this without simmer switches.

I have an ex-police T5 from Warwickshire plod, and I can confirm it is not chipped in any way. The main differences seem to be a bigger brake pack, and a lot stiffer suspenssion, with the rear sitting higher than most others that I have seen. There are some minor differences also the ones I have noticed are that certain pipes are relocated inthe engine bay, but I am guessing this is to allow for the police equiptment to be fitted in there. The other differences that I have been told of (but can't confirm) are that the speed limiter is removed/disabled, and the turning bump stops are removed.
