    Man down......

Yes I hit the armco barrier coming off M25 westbound for the A2, the front tracked through fine on the Vredestein Quatrac3's , the rear on the other hand hit the black ice (Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's) , swung me round on opposite lock...... no traction and auto, what do you do? accelerate or brake or do nothing......., bang against armco with front nearside (need white bumper + insert , got headlamp + need indicator unit) took large chunck out of rear alloy.......flat tyre (goodyear , 'foxtrot oscar' to it as well.....).

Stopped, but crapping it about what else would come round the corner as I was Perpendicular to the carriageway while Steely Dan was still playing 'Royal Scam' ..........

Car made it to the local and still in car park with 1-possibly 2 flat tyres. Still drove ok.

PM me if you have a a spare columba near A2/A205 area for sale......

Many Thanks in advance and still alive, what a superb car......I love it.....

P.S. Can you believe it when it stopped all doors unlocked , it hasn't done that for a week on the central locking....

    Greif mate!

The locking thing is a safety number. Helps the fire crews gain access!

I'll need to worry.. I have all weather numbers on the front & performance numbers on the rears... all goodyear eagle f1's.

Crap about the damage! At least it drives! I'v heard of worse on black death!

Cheers mate , only need one though with no tyre is fine, as I have 2 part worn eagles in the shed (although I would rather sh*t broken glass than put that tyre anywhere near my car) .

Needs to be a local one within a 20-30 mile radius to catford south east london area, will check the breakers.....

    Thanks again.

As I have heard such good things about these tyres, make sure they are not copies. I think I got mine from blackcircles or mytyres.co.uk

I must say next time I will get the Wintracs, as they are even better on snowy icy wet roads.....in the summer they are a no brainer, cost more, but so what? They will still work well..... At least I won't get caught out again like last night....The Vred Quatrac3' have been perfect in all conditions so far this winter......better than I anticipated......

Thanks Mrs. M, I am not sorry about the Volvo it proved to me I should stick with it and keep the car for good ..... Hardly any damage and still drove!

The Missus's Toyota Aygo may have been slightly more rearranged facially, including myself.....

Sorry to hear about your woe's and another warning that when you fit winter tyres make sure they are fitted to all 4 tyres!. - i had this very same conversation with my Father yesterday!.
Im sure with winters on the rear you would not have suffered oversteer,
Alternatively if you were running the GSD3's up front im sure you would have got some warning with understeer.
Good luck in getting it back on the road.

Mate says I need a new axle as well, as the comets have gone back on and one looks like it is pointing inwards like the camber is wrong, do the rear wheels have camber adjustment?

Just a bit of filler will sort this one out.......

And yes I drove the car from crash site back for 4 miles, then when I had some light saw what had happened to the rear nearside rim......

Aww mate, new axle is gonna be a pain! Scrappys?

Just shows why they get refered to as tanks!

Who needs the pneumatic tyre anyways!

There's a trend towards the airless tyre happening now!

    How will kwikfit cope!

There is some adjustment to be had on the rear yes.

Best bet is to go and get a proper 4 wheel alignment and any damage will be obvious.

    good luck

Is that the inner and outer rear axle bushes?
