    turbo upgrade

    Hi,

I have a W reg(2000) C70 2.4 20 valve turbo which i want to upgrade in terms of putting a t-5 turbo in,now can anyone tell me if its going to be a straight swap? would i have to change the down pipe, manifold or would any other modifications be needed? am pretty sure it should be straight forward, but any advise given is appreciated..

    Thanks..

Hi - the turbo might bolt straight on but it won't work as you hope! Have a search on here, there are other people who have discussed changing the turbo on their LPT cars before - might give you a steer?

    Cheers...

    Hi Alistair,

Thanks for the prompt reply well appreciated.I have been told that i need to remap it so the correct amount of fuel is feed if that maybe the reason as to why they don't work other than that am sure there cant be no other reason.will have a dig on here like you advised.

    Once again thanks.

Yep it would definitely need a re-map - I think that the engine compression ratio will also be a factor as the LPT and HPT engines are different. Good luck!
