19T is a good option. gives good power all the way up to 6k with the right software.

At the risk of showing the same graph again...

You can get a really good torque delivery right the way through

Had a 19T on this one...

I can second the 19t with remap, good power all the way through the rev range and better economy when you are not pushing hard!

Also think about the 18t and modifying your present 16t but all after a 3" downpipe and sports cat, I was going for a 19t but looked at the gains for having my 16t moded and recon for what I'm looking for ie mid range gain it will give me the same as lashing out lots of dosh on a 19t

Or a hybrid 16T/19T turbo may be an idea.

I have a 19T with standard 16t down pipe and custom rica map, Its good for 280 whp and 430nm @ the wheels! (around 325-330bhp)
Its far more flexible and free flowing than the 16T giving more boost throughout the rev range 3000-6000 rpm is mind blowing whatever gear your in! 110-120 I cant even blink that fast!
I wasted money having a 16t refurbed and was very disapointed with the lack of power and boost @ 5000 rpm!
Also at a steady 70 mph over a 70 mile trip with the 19t fitted she returned 37.1 mpg!!
Not bad for a 165000 mile car,
If your turbo needs doing and you want to enjoy the car , I would go 19 t every day of the week, its the car volvo should have built in the first place!
The only downside being second gear is real hard to get traction unless you have a passanger and feed the power in, she will happily spin a little in the dry in 3rd and 4th at times too!

In order to make the best of the 19 it is advised that a free flow cat/race cat be used - but they are not cheap - hence this combo is a good compromise

VT can supply and its the same price as any other volvo turbo, its just the fitting may take a bit longer, give Adam or Hamish a call for a quote, as they will remap it correctly to protect your rods and get the best out of the upgrade.
I think all standard application mitsubishi turbos retail at around £5-600 not 100 percent though!
