anyone got a vadis dvd and if so whats the verdict? cheers
I got it.. i was expecting to have a breakdown of all parts and their part numbers but at first glance could not find it..
any ideas?
i had the same problem when i first got mine i think you have to go to the user config button on the start page and tick all the boxes for the full range of info such as part nos ect i will try and look at mine later to see exactly what i done .
cheers wellsy
i have vadis here...
dont know if im interpreting the question correctly, but i'll have a crack
first you need to put in vehicle details, then when you go into Information Manager, click one of the top buttons (for example engine), then make sure you look at the left side of the page and select Parts Information, then Parts Catalogue.
its not a great parts catalogue, as parts cats go, but good enough for what you will want it for really
any more specific questions post them up here, been using it daily for about 6 years, lol, and have installed it many times if you need help with that.

I have VADIS and have found it very helpful. As is mentioned above you must put in the car details and then go to the parts catalogue for the part no.s. Contains a lot of info but you have to browse a bit to find it all. worth every penny I'd say.
Where can I order a copy ? I've made some downloads but they're in Swedish. OR should I wait for the VIDA ? Thanks.

see me nudge nudge, wink wink.
vadis would do you really, i have no experience of VIDA yet, but will probably be sent away on course for that soon before they make the change lol. VADIS has a fair bit of workshop info in it too, alongside the parts information. between them should cover everything you need really mate.
i've seen them going on ebay, i dont know how it works then though, as the offiical dvd (like i have) expires and needs to be upgraded every so often, otherwise it just wont run anymore.

VIDA is online only is it not? I don't think you can get it on DVD.
Adam.
are you thinking of TIE mate? thats one of the current online systems we use (also use QW90 and VIPS), VIDA will be replacing VADIS by all accounts, and therefore i imagine will be on dvd?

Yes the Vadis DVD is a very good information tool. A good starting point is to enter your car VIN and go from there (but you do need to spend some time playing with it ! ) what would be best is to have VADIS with a cheap ODB II Communication Tool (VCT 2000) :-) ODB II could this be another old thread starting again.... OBD II DIY... now have I started it !!! (dam will they recognise RattyR70AWD shhh I might of got way with it !) .

I heard all these is going to be an opened market and by such, Volvo would have a bigger maintenance blanket to cover practically all areas. You wouldn't need to go to a 'specialised' Volvo centre to get your car diagnosed. In a way, the Volvos would be more afffordable in terms of repairs & maintenance, might even use this to push the sales.
Anyway, when we go online with VADIS/VIDA, do we have to pay ?
Mailee,
I know of the OBD-II communication (as what V70RAWD mentioned) can you get your hands on them too ?
Sorry glock19 just the disk. I have seen one on e-bay that should do the job though, usually goes for around £50.
