    Need info on my S60

    Hi all,

This may be a bit weird, but I'm looking for info on my S60 D5 SE. The dealer hased had the manuals passed through yet, so I don't know much about it.

    It is a 54 plate S60 D5 reg 1st Feb 05.

    Here's my questions (ahem!)

    1. How do I find out the model revision? (ie MY05?)
    2. Will the enging be the 163 bhp version (it has a five speed box)
    3. Colour was advertised as Titanium. Is there a paint code anywhere on the car?
    4. Is there an easy way to find out if any extras have been added. Only obvious one is the rear spoiler.
    5. Anywhere I can download an electronic User Manual?
    6. Can I turn the driving lights off?
    7. Anything else I should be looking out for?

Any help much appreciated, right now I'm pressing buttons to see what they do!

A lot of this can be sought from the VIN plate (in the engine bay) - see below

    1. Get the VIN, use info below and/or ring Volvo
    2. Volvo can tell you that but some will be on the VIN plate (see below)
    3. It's on the VIN plate
    4. Volvo should have the details from the original sale
    5. No - not legally
    6. Dealers can tell the car to turn off the DRLs (daylight running lights)
    7. Cars in front of you.

    2. It's will be a 163 bhp.

    Here goes:

    1. Look at your VIN no.
The 10th character will tell the model year
    eg. 3=2003; 4=2004; 5=2005
The last 6 didgits are the chassis no. and for the S60 model years it goes:
    2003 Chassis 235000-
    2004 Chassis 315000-
    2005 Chassis 425000-
I am assuming your S60 is a facelift model with colour coded body trim, clear headlight glass and the new style centre console. This is the 2005 model.

2.It will be the 163bhp Euro III compliant engine.
The later Euro IV has a 6-speed 'box with 163bhp or 185bhp engines.

    3. Paint code found on the stamped VIN plate under the bonnet.
It'll be the third set of digits in the smaller right column.
If it's Titanium Gray the code is 455.

    4. Easiest way would be to pick up or check online the current pricelist from Volvo. The specs of the facelift S60 haven't changed much in the past couple of years. There's probably too much to list in this thread. Tell us what you have.

    5. Not aware of any downloads. May be some in USA.

    6. Volvo dealer or specialist will have to turn off lights via. VIDA. Thay may charge so plead nicely.

    7. ...that's a whole different can of worms. Just enjoy your new ride.

    Hope that helps.

Chances are its a 2005MY does it have the updated head and tail lights, i.e clear lenses on the front?

    Its definately a 163bhp.

Only typical options on these cars are the winter packs and metallic paint, winter pack is the heated front seats and headlamp cleaning system.

    Thanks Guys,

VIN no says it's an 05 model and the paint is indeed 455 (Titanium).
It must be the facelift model as it has the clear lenses etc. No winter pack (boo!) but it does have a rear spoiler. Everything else seems normal SE spec.

First I'm going to check out the IPod option, then perhaps one of those PowerKlick thingies.

Took me a wee while to figure out how the fuel cover locked <g>

I don't think there'a any tuning centres in central Scotland. Unless any of you guys know of one? The Powerklick is a mail order option.
