At the mo, my T5 has Continentals, 205/50/16..
It handles like a boat, is it advisable to get 205/45/16's or 195/45/16's?
Anyone run this set up?
thanks

Hi Mate,Mine has Continental Contact Sports on and they are brilliant tyres,
You do realise your speedo will be out if you go down a profile don't you ?
You are better off getting some GOODYEAR Eagle F1s 215/50/16 brilliant tyres even the Police use them,
What state are your cuerrent tyres in?
V40 2.0T Sport Lux Titanium grey,(03) 133k,standard
Yamaha R1 5VY,(06) 180bhp/165whp,100nm
I've just shifted from 205 to 215's on the advice of the more knowledgeable members of the forum . But the tyre fitters were unsure as to the PSI for the move from 205 to 215.
I guess that I will have to play around with pressures between 32 and 36 to see what feels and wears best, but does anyone have any experience of what is best following the move 'up' to 215s?
You don't say what size rim's you have going too wide on a narrow rim will make it understeer more going to narrow tyre's on a wide rim sharpens up steering/handling look at the btcc cars there rims are always wider than the tyres RICH

The tyres are currently in really good nick at the mo, but the way I drive it, im sure they wont be for long!
I have Eagle F1's on my Golf, and they're good tyres, but due to the soft compound, they're just wearing too fast!
The 205's on the Volvo look like they're too big, they over hang the wheel loads, so I'd aimagine a 215 would be huge...
Im used to the opposite on my golf, the trend is to have stretched tyres, so im running a 195/40/17 on an 8" wide wheel! Looks great, but dont fancy cornering as fast as the cars capable of! lol

im guessing your going to need the higher psi A 215 will only take the load better it wont give you much more grip ust cost more but then ive only been driving my t5 for 2wks had a jap import honda accord 2.2 vtech that was only 4" off the deck RICHOriginally Posted by HuskMan
