    Brake judder.

Help, since I bought the car (a good while ago) I have a problem when using the brakes. If I drive over a pothole or similar under braking I get a violent vibration throught the brake pedal, it doesn't seem to effect the braking but its very disconcerting when it happens. On smooth roads it doesn't happen,

The car had all new brakes and pads fitted by myself when I bought it( about 4 years ago), and there are no warning lights on the dash.

I am no mechanic Tomcat but I did experience brake judder when my O/S/F wheel hub and rod end were going up the creek. As I said I know little or nothing about these things but who knows? It may be a pointer. The guys at VT will probably have an idea.

I thought this, but it was doing it before its last MoT and they didn't find anything wrong.

Don't let the MOT fool you. Mine was MOT'd on a Monday and the service on Thursday uncovered a dodgy but not illegal wheel hub and track rod end, the rear exhaust hanger was highlighted at the service as broken........it gave way on the Friday and the top engine mount showed a split. All done now and the difference is very noticable but none of these showed up on the MOT.

Er....I think I'll have a crawl under the car this weekend and have a look see, we don't want anything dropping off now do we?. Aren't Mot's supposed to pick up on dodgy suspension issues?, especialy wheel hubs, these going wrong could be bleedin dangerous.

Its your abs kicking in. Try standing on the brakes at speed to see if the pedal feels the same. My T5 is not as suseptible to it, but the Alfa does it all the time
