Yes they did value it at £7500 which was kinda helpful, they understood it was a rare car and agreed to repair it. Kinda lucky for me.

Nice job but a silly sum of money really when the car is worth no where near that much you were very lucky to get it back on the road just not sure i would be happy driving it around after that sort of damage

Maybe the car isn't worth that much to you, but it might be to adieu, and if he persuaded his insurers then so much the better for all of us!

Good to see it back on the road, fella... you must be happy with the result.

Car looks mint Iain, glad you are happy !

I have to say though, nsurance companies work in mysterious ways. My chum dangerous Dave has a 2002 Audi A4 1.8T Sline Quattro. It is basically a poor mans S4 with a mere 190hp, but every conceivable extra - his mate spanked it big style and did £20000 of damage to a £30000 within 6 months of him taking delivery. So his insurance put him up in a BMW for 3 months whilst it was rebuilt. Seems odd they didn't write that off??

The car should be worth that much to any T5R owner! We need to keep these cars on the road, there are so few left (850r's included) we all need to fight with insurance companys to keep them running (regardless of who services, chips, maintains our cars!) If you have an accident in yours i'm sure you would not want to see it writen off!

As for not wanting to drive it after so much damage, it was only a tailgate and rear wing(no subframe damage etc) costs are high because Volvo parts are EXPENSIVE!!!!!!

I'm glad she is still running and she is still a joy to drive. I've had her checked out by SWAUTO's and they have confirmed that all repairs have been carried out to the highest standard.

Infact after her 120k service (thank's Stuart) she is more than happy, some tinkering has been done and she now has 1 extra part and has also lost something.......lol

Thanks all that have taken the time to reply....

    Regards

    Iain
