Well, my D5 did 15 mpg instantaneous while doing the 1/4 mile. If anyone has any data on their T5 then this may be the only comparison available!!

Consider the RICA 280 - standard fuel - bit of power - easy on the walet.

Or a custom map of any type as they can do it specifically for economy if you want.

Just being honest mate, if you really want mpg out of a 70 series then keep it standard because you will use it once mapped or chipped regardless of the tuner options (and if you don't why bother in the first place) then it is never going to return a decent mpg. Hence my short answer lol.

Would have to agree! I get exactly the same mpg as I did pre RICA on my S70!

So maybe there is some truth in the MPG staying the same post tune. All of mine have improved but some may not for whatever reason??

Thing is tho I drive it like a hooligan with the RICA whereas I drove like Miss Daisy as standard, they are too flat and lazy as standard to warrant hooning around so when I say mine has stayed the same I mean I get the same mpg from driving like a scolded rica cat as I did driving like I had a brick stuck under my loud pedal pre Rica!

    Did that make any sense??

I have found my MPG increase slightly after the Rica, and I certainly don't potter around...

Hi Dave, I have generalised a bit mate, granted, but if you you use more energy to push the pistons down then you need more fuel to create that power same fuel octane rating and everything else being equal.

I have seen a massive improvement with my 19T Rica map compared to my Superchip. Drove from Bristol to Andrews in Cambridge and got 30mpg on the motorways. When I hammered the Superchip I was seeing 18mpg, the 19T map sees about 22.5.

My Rica'd Passat 1.8T petrol has seen a 4mpg increase in economy too, and goes like £££££ off a shovel as well.

So you can have your cake and eat it.

So I conject that so long as you are not driving "like you stole it" all the time it would not be unreasonable to expect an improvement in MPG?

I can only speak from experience- Superchips SUCKED, Rica has seen an improvement.

Anyone with TME/ MTE, Unichip, PPC, blah blah care to add to the discussion for the sake of balance?
