I'm getting a message saying "bulb failure position light" with a amber warning light.....What on earth is the position light or am i reading it wrong??
I've checked the indicators and headlights etc

that was the first place i looked no mention of it, it even lists all the lights and where they are but no position light listed

I've had this warning come up.
Strange one in my case really. The headlamp bulb had gone. I replaced the bulb, and then a few days later, it went again! Opened the back of the headlamp unit and the bulb holder had melted.
Volvo ended up replacing the whole headlamp unit under warranty. Apparently that was at fault.
If the lights are working, but the warning is still there, I'd get it looked at sooner rather than later. It could mean that something other than the bulb isn't happy.
