    '96 850T5 engine required

    agghhhh, i lost a cylinder yesterday so need to locate a replacement engine (my bro's going to fit it and much prefers to replace than repair). Anyone have any idea's of potential suppliers????

    Jedi, where abouts are you in the UK? And what exactly happened to the engine? Im sure as you want to fully replace it someone will take it off your hands!

    Hi there,
    car is in Staffordshire, well i'm no mechanic and know relatively little about cars - all i can say is that the engine developed one hell of a mis-fire luckily after i pulled off the Mway. I got it to my brothers (who is a mecahnic) and we found there is no compression in No. 4. (plug was caked in oil too)..... that's all i can say really.

    Well, i'm not sure wether to whap another engine in or get myself a new one, preferably an estate.... I have upto £2k to spend (not a lot, i know especially as i dont want to be in the same predicament again anytime soon) but am going to keep my eyes open. Any advice, as usual will be brill !

    For lack of hassle I would salvage what you can from the existing one and go seek. Unless you want a project?

    If you play it well you'll be able to get a fair amount out of the old one via ebay and the choice of 850 T5's for 2K is very wide.
