    Boost Control Solenoid ?

Just ours has a serious kink in it, I think the pipe is too short, which I think will be blocking whatever goes through it. MBC is fitted so probably won't make a difference then ?

here here.......and handle it and the breather pipe with care.....
if you search pcv you will find a wealth of stuff about it (and a lot of sore hands) lol
the pipe with the yellow band around it above the circle is one of the three pipes which connect to your boost control valve....

Mine goes from there round the front of the engine, up and onto the inlet manifold near the thermostat housing, it's a bitch to fit which the inlet on, a breeze with it off!!! it also shares a rubber sleeve with the engine breather, (The larger pipe near it) as it turns out that big one breaks over time, oil fatigue so beware, if you get an oily smell that's likely to be it...

Oh, mine is kinked too... even the new one kinks when fitted..

the engine photographed is a phase 2 so the lay out will be the same as yours and yes the breather hoses are very brittle, a sheath of hose pipe generally does the trick.......without wishing to repeat myself heat the elbow to the inlet manifold and it will expand to allow an easy (ier lol) fit..
