This insurance group thing doesnt mean alot Ive found.

For instance My Jag XKR which is insurance group 20 costs £200 a year less to insure than my Overfinched' Range Rover which is group 16 I think.

However my £7k S60 with mods costs the same to insure as a £70k Range Rover.

All policies have max no claims on them

So according to Parkers, it IS a group 16!!! What a rip off! I did tell em its the same bleedin car underneath, but he said "the coupes must have more insurance claims against them" I said "just cos Wobbley Dave pretends to be a Squadron Leader, doesnt mean my insurance should go up!!!

I shall be consulting confused.com tomorrow, whilst in work obviously

Insurance are correct unfortunetely, C70 T5 Group 16, T5 GT group 17, not sure why but they are, maybes the extra cost of the cars new but the premium does go up alot.

When I was 19 ended up with a T5 instead of the GT due to the £350 difference in insurance costs!

    Cool

Story time, dude with a new BMW Mini Turbo Diesel 19 years old 1 year NCB £1500 Fully Com. Same dude with a similar petrol powered Pug 3 years old £2500 FC. Why? which car gets totalled more often? IMHO its all about the risk factor. The quote's were real last year down south.

Defintely over the odds Liddo, i'm 28, full no claims, and i'm only paying £450ish...

And that's with Admiral, who i thought might be pricey. They've even ok'ed my premium to cover my car when i get it Rica'd, obviously at an increase..

Are you declaring your mods? That's the problem I have with all of these companys- they don't want to know once I say its had a re-map, new turbo, new exhaust etc etc!

I don't think Liddo's got any mods, although i could be wrong, i'm with Admiral too, how much extra did thet quote you for your mods ?

They have an "increased BHP" category i think that allows up to 25% increase ? They quoted me around an extra £230 or something for my remaining 10months on my policy, how does that compare ?

another £250 on top of £500. I went with Adrian Flux in the end.
