    New clutch

    Bit the bullet today and had a new clutch fitted.


    first thing the technician tells me after roadtest? >

    he BLITZED a 350z on the dualcarriageway that tried to play. He wants to buy the car off me now ......
    now : 850 2.5 auto

    That reminds me must get around to getting mine fitted (sitting in our cupboard at home and has been for months lol)

    I only decided to get it fitted this morning.
    we were quiet today!!

    clutch smooth as silk now.
    now : 850 2.5 auto

    one of the lads in my parts dept had the clutch on his S40 done today for £300 all in, genuine volvo parts off our shelf too

    how'd he get it that cheap unless you only pay like 10/ph lab????

    we pay a reduced rate but the proper lab time.

    was it a turbo? a release bearing is like 15 and a n/a clutch much cheaper
    i bet it was a lovely 1.8

    Depends what sort of pet mechanic you have and what sort of service manager is working at the garage, if the manager doesnt mind the odd bit of dodgy work going on after hours then ideal but thats an individual thing!
