    Permanent Lights

Does anyone know of a relatively easy way to have the headlights switched off in the "0" position on my 96 854 T5? I've turned the small screw (under the selector switch) to the "\" position, but the sidelights are still on all the time. Not so bad at the moment, but would prefer not to have them on in the summer.

There are 3 positions for the little screw. I think 1 of them turns off lights completely.

    Fun in the twisties!

i have this problem too, supposedly in the \ position it turns them off. However i've discovered that the dim headlamps are still on, only the corner lights are turned off. no idea what the middle position does (not much i think) and / seems to be the 'normal' position.

Here's the quote from my owners manual:

Knob Below the light switch is used to control the automatic
    dipped headlight in position
    0 .
Press in the knob and turn using a small screwdriver.

    I - Automatic dipped headlights (UK-DIM dip) (Alt. 1)
/ - Automatic dipped headlights (I think by the code it means at all times)
\ - All lights switched off (Alt. 2)

"Alt" refers to the ignition key positions

All these can be over ridden by the main light switch...

    HOpe this helps

So let me get this right. You have to set the ignition to either poss 1 or 2 while adjusting the little grub screw for this to actually take effect
