    T5 smoke??

Mate of mine went to see a 95 T5 saloon today,he said everything checked out,109K, years MOT,5 months tax, full Volvo history, full leather, air con too,but when the car was started,it filled the street with smoke, also filled the interior...Took it for a spin, and he said it was really quick, but kept cutting out,no smoke after the inititial smokescreen. He also said the boost gauge was going right off the end, then it would cut back for miles....Guy wants £750 for it......any ideas?

Probably the actuator hose is split or off and its overboosting like crazy, could be the cause of the smoke through a worn engine, steer clear

Its not worth £750!!! I just bought a really straight 850 saloon for £600 quid with a leaky oil return seal!

Damn,I'm slowly realising I paid too much for mine, just had a hell of an afternoon replacing the cracked exhaust manifold..did the return seal at the same time though! After stripping it all down,it looks like my oil leak is 98% coming from the filler cap.Everything went OK with the manifold too,no snapped studs,no scuffed knuckles, looks like the worm may have turned!
