    Question Tailgate not locking!!

Hi Volvo folks. Got a 850 estate.....T5 of course.
The tailgate lock locks and unlocks with the key.....but won't UNLOCK or LOCK with the remote. Thinking about it sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but it seems to be getting worse. All the other doors work perfectly.
Any clues on how to solve this little niggly problem.

Spray some WD40 on the key and insert into boot lock.

Then unlock and lock about 10 times in very quick succession.

It should now work...... but the motor is on its way out and will need replacing at some point in the future.

Could be the actuator like S60 says. Try operating it and see if you can hear it working, is so. most likely to be the link rods between the lock (the bit the key fits in!!!) and the actual lock mechanism. A bit of adjustment should sort it as over time things begin to wear. If there is any play in it the actuator (motor) wont be able to do it
    Scrappage.....love it!!

Thanks...I did try WD40 and it seemed to improve it for a while. As you say probably the motor on it's way to heaven.
