want to polish up my cam cover ..have a spare which i think ill do and exchange but how big / hard a job is it ... just to remove the cover etc.... does all the timing belt have to come off etc ??

Yea the belt has to come off, the cover holds the cams in place, 62 bolts I think which hold the sodding thing on, bit of a job!!!!!
might do it on the car then lol bit of a sod but ill manage

Same here....unbolting one bolt at a time and cleaning round it then re-torqueing it up then moving on to the next......very slow and very boring...

Yeah do tell as mine could do with a bit of sparkle and shine
And its currently doing nothing until i get the rear camshaft oil seal done so i`ve got plenty of time to kill

P2 V70 T5 in explod white running 17 " orpheus alloys , full leather interior , HU 803 with prologic amp
use a variety of different mops and compounds available to the trade
sellpolishing kits on ebay for general polishing but the mops wont be small enuff for all te nooks and crannies of a rocker cover will need some pretty small mops on a dremmel to get in around the bolts lol
but can supply most mops and compounds
