Vovlo dealer can supply a new filler cap seal quite reasonably priced.
These seals are known to go hard, new one will cure the leak.
Easy 10 second job.
Fun in the twisties!

Yeah it seems quite a common problem and a new filler cap isnt reallly that expensive
I bent (adjusted the two lugs that grip the engine cover) and virtually cured it, but only cause too tight to buy new cap! which would sort it.

i agree, its a 99% chance of it being due to an aged oil cap seal, as these are quite common to go. inexpensive and most likely to be in stock at your local dealer... but don't forget there is also a small chance of there being a breathing problem.
if there is a blocked breather oil pressure can build up, and this can force out oil from seals, usually being the uppermost oil seals first. i recomend changing the cap and seal first, but keep a sneaky eye on it for signs of it coming back. if it does, investigate further ok
