The AWD has problems with the transfer box. I would certainly avoid them. If you want AWD for winter traction get some all season or winter tyres on the 2WD!

If you want AWD for increased traction to put the power down, get a good suspension setup and some sticky tyres (Bridgestone Potenza RE050A's) on the front with the 2WD and you'll be laughing.

Considering the 2WD is local to you with less miles, that would be my choice every single time without a doubt.

I have the AWD version in manual form with rica, and I have to say it has excellent traction, grip & power & will leave all 2wd versions round a corner no problems!

Had the car for a year now and no problems with uneven tyres or transfer box.
