    The purpose of the video was to show how to change the strainer.
    Removing the sump pan for access is essentially the same job.
    It's not my fault that You Tube does not yet have a D5 variant.
    Maybe dode4444 can upload one, then D5 & T5 owners might then service their automatic transmissions properly?

    I appreciate that you say there’s a strainer in this sump pan but I have read so many other sites and forums and not once have I ever heard anything other than on the Volvo D5 autos with an AW55-51SN gearbox only have an internal filter and it is not readily accessible to get to for changing.

    So to confirm what you are saying is….

    that if I removed the sump pan this is easily access and changed from under the car?

    Not the usual auto gearbox issues??

    Just as I thought haha.

    Couple of oil changes by draining the sump for me and with a week or so in between and if it doesn’t improve I’ll drive it till it dies.
    Didn’t pay mega bucks for the car so wouldn’t be worth investing hundreds into the problem.
