    V70R Rain squeal

Any one got any fixes for the dreaded rain squeal on my 2003 V70R if I drive through any heavy rain or standing water? US websites recommend removing and replacing the front exhaust resonator with a plain piece of pipe. Any one done this????

This is a known phenomenon and can easily be remedied by adjusting the exhaust slightly to pull it away from the propshaft.
Firstly, you may have excessive play in the center support bearing on the propshaft from the Angle gear > Rear axle. If so, then a new propshaft will fix the issue.
OR... you could kill two birds with one stone by removing the exhaust from the catalyst and replacing with a stainless steel option. If you have one made, you can get them to put a slight bend in the pipe, away from the prop and that will definitely resolve the issue.

Look for scratch marks on the prop close to the ANgle gear.
