Morning all,
what causes partial failure of illumination behind passenger side climate control temp knob? I think I read it could be DICE (and I don't even know what that means!) How do I fix it?
thanks as always,
Nick0

The panel has small bulbs that are very overpriced available from Volvo.
As Harvey says there are several little bulbs in those things.
I seem to remember that you have to be careful not to disconnect the climate panel whilst the car battery is still connected as it will throw a code that is hard to remove.
I may be just remembering wrong though someone will tell us otherwise.

Hi Nick,
I could show you photos for this procedure as I replaced mine last year. Info on my project thread, but I think Photobucket website is down or having problems as none of my pictures load on this website.
Anyway:
CCM removal
Firstly wait 3 minutes after switching off car then disconnect the Earth cable from the battery. (This prevents SRS errors when CCM is disconnected).
Once the CCM panel is out, unplug it then replacing the bulbs becomes obvious. They just twist 90*degrees and pull out.
Bulbs you get from Volvo...
#30739358 bulb x 4 GREY for CCM £23.24
#30739356 bulb x 2 WHITE for CCM £11.62
#30752175 bulb x 4 (can't remember colour) for 4 of the 5 switches with blown bulbs in the lower switch pack below CCM £15.48
#30739357 bulb x 3 BLACK for Headlight switch £17.43 (These are for the headlight switch - which you may as well replace also as they dim with age and loose their colour.)
Total £81.56 inc VAT.
