    T5 drive-e engine

    Is it just me! Or does the drive-e petrol T5 engine seem very noisy when idling!? It’s not quite as loud as a diesel but much louder than previous turbo petrol cars I have owned.. anything different that attributes to this?

    The drive-e engine is different to the old volvo modular design and uses direct injection so won't have the same sound. Will be a totally different engine.
    1996 Olive Green 850 AWD - Follow the Project - Forged rods, 19T, big blue injectors, 960 TB, 3.25" MAF, Ostrich, 608 binary, arduino data display, active exhaust control with Focus RS tips, 320mm front brake conversion.
    1996 Nautic Blue 850 AWD - Failed its MOT, now it's a donor for the green thing.

    T5 and Drive - E was thinking must be a new 2L thing

    They play fast and loose with the T5 branding these days

    It's the high pressure injection that makes it sound diesel like...
