    Camshaft seals

Owing to confusion I have only done one of the seals.

Most parts outlets confusing call them "front" or "rear" camshaft seals which made me order one of each. When in fact, "front" means the cam sprocket side and "rear" means distributor side.

This is the distributor seal. The cam position sensor seal is only weeping slightly. I have now ordered the correct seal for it and will fit once delivered.

Dirty and definitely gone a long time ago....

Really easy to replace the side I've done. The other side...... tricky, as its cam sprockets off. I only had a new cambelt fitted about 1000 miles ago so I wont be doing that side for a long time.

I actually fell upon this doing a search to replace cam cover gaskets.

It described with pictures the exact location of my oil leak/drips (or at least some of them....). I still think the cam cover is leaking as well.

Once I've got the other replaced I shall give it a de-grease and see whats happening.
