    Valve Shims for Redblock.

So its a normal service activity right? Setting the valve clearances.... Can anyone tell me the dims of the tappet shims or where to get them? I havent tried Volvo yet but guessing they are a pretty commoditised item. Chers woz

Dont worry - I checked them all today and they were all within the .30-.40mm tolerance range. 4 valves were on .39mm but nothing under .35 so no significant seat recession. Panic over for another 30k.. LOL

They do not normally go out. It normally only when you do head work or change cam you need to touch them

I'd like to keep them between 0,4inlet and 0,45mm for outlet. Even on LPG after 100kKm I guess in average the thicknesses have decreased with approx 0,15 at the max for the shims.
