    Looking for new car.

Afternoon guys and gals. Well I have had my S60 for couple of years now and love it. But now am after something bigger. V70 d5 or XC70 d5. What's people's views on the XC70's. I'm looking at 2 XC70s on Thursday. Both d5 geartronic. 55 plate 163bhp and an 06 185bhp. Both same colour and trim spec. Although the 55 plate 163 has slightly more options as standard. Both £4000. Then there's a V70 d5 se sport 185 in Southampton for £4495. Wife's yelling get the XC70. What's people's opinions. Anyone own an XC70? They good or bad? Any advice is always appreciated. Thanks in advance, Nick.

The 163bhp D5 doesn't have a DPF filter for sure, I can't be certain about the later 06 model? If it has, I'd avoid.

What's wrong with that? If the mileage is lowish then that's a lot of car for your money. Also, 06 model is only just 12 years old

As with all the Haldex AWD cars, makes sure the AWD is working and as soon as you purchase, get it into the garage to have all the driveline oils replaced and Haldex filter etc.

4K is about right for a clean 100k V70 with good spec. Been looking for ages now. Seems I can get a V70 mk3 (ford) for a lot less than a V70 mk2. The proper Volvos seem to keep their value. Going to look at V70 on Monday. The Xc70 was taken off sale. But now back on sale at same garage for £300 more. Cheeky sods.

Hi my brother has an xc70 2008 d5 on 110,000 and it goes very well. It's good on fuel around 43 mpg and in the winter it proved itself. He fishes a lot and it gets him across fields no problem. He has the 3 settings on his suspension and it handles well. He has had it for 2 yrs and he has no complaints. He is very particular about his cars and likes the comfort and build quality. The rear subframe area can be prone to surface rust like the xc90 the 4wd system has no issues.
    Regards
    Dan
