Easy fix for dimming rear view mirror.

I believe my mirror is not dimming as well or at all.

Are there any easy fixes? I know these are unfortunately coded.

I don't fancy taking it apart unless I really have too.

    All the best

What makes you think it's not auto dimming?

I've noticed driver lights behind me are bright. My old car had auto dimming and with cars with less now are very bright and I wasn't being blinded at night.. Is there away to test it to see if it is faulty?

To test it you need to cover the light sensor on the windscreen side to fool it in to thinking it's night time, then (with ignition on) shine a bright light at the mirror side and see if it reacts.

Thanks for that And if it fails to do so? I'm pretty positive that is not dimming when mom driving home from work during the night.

Yeah that doesn't look like a five minute job. I think I'd rather leave it be as I don't fancy breaking anything. Bit of a shame that they have made is so hard to replace without having to reside things which costs a fortune.

Thanks though. Of anyone fancies doing mine I'd be appreciated.

Only just noticed mine looks to have failed as well. I don't drive much at night and did have one of those fitted sun screen kits in all the back windows so that cut out a lot of glare. Mind you, in all my years of driving cars with manual dipping mirrors, I could probably count on the fingers of one hand how many times I ever felt the need to dip a mirror. So I guess I'll just live with it.
