Wheels - a question from an ignoramus

    Morning all.

I've got a P2 V70 AWD D5 (2006) which I'm changing soon for a P2 V70R, in the certain knowledge of having far worse fuel consumption but not murdering everyone with particulate emissions, just gassing you all with CO2 instead

Question - does anyone know if wheels off the 2006 one will fit the older one? As I don't yet have it, I can't check offsets and all that stuff, but I've got a set of newly refurbished rims that I want to use for winter tyres on the R.

    Now; V70R 2003

    Then; V70 D5 SE AWD 2006 - best yet; 850 T5 LHD wagon; 53 V70 D5 SE; R V70 AWD; T V70 SE; P 850R (best ever until gearbox died); L 960 24 valve 3 litre saloon; E 240 GL wagon; A 240 GL saloon.

You will most likely find that your current wheels foul the Brembo's calipers that are fitted as standard to the R.

I have had issues finding wheels that fit.
I currently have a set of 17" Team Dynamic's Pro Race 1.3's for winter. And a set of 18" Bola B10's for summer.
From memory the R has 5X108 pcd, offset of 46 (I think) centre bore 65.1 (yet again not 100% sure on that one).
The above is for the 18" wheels, not sure if the offset is different on the 17's as I only have 1 set of these and they are on a car that is in storage.

Depends on the wheels you have - anything over 17" will be fine.

Not even all volvo 18s fit over brembos iirc, you’ll most likely have fouling issues

My spares are 17" but I don't know all the other numbers for them:-(

Looks like I'll have to wait till I get the car (next week I hope) and can try out one of my wheels on it. Fingers crossed ;-)

The issue I have found is that the wheels foul the outer face of the caliper. I suppose you could put spacers on?

Isn't that more an offset issue?

Yeah it was, the wheels were listed as fitting a v70r from supplier but by the time we messed about with them the supplier wanted 25% back for handling etc and spacers was my only option. Glad I did really as I like them now. (After I had them painted a different colour ...Doh)

They look very good, love the sonics with dark Wheels had mine done black gloss and changed headlamps to the black xenons, some of the heico Wheels look lush which is what they remind me of.

I tried to get heico alloys first but couldn't get them anywhere. Even heico uk were not helpful
