    Steering Rack problem

Whilst i have had all the steering knuckles off the car I can easily get to the rack and I noticed that 2 of the brackets have broken loose from the tube. I am a profficient welder so wonder if i can avoid paying 500 nicker for a new one and just weld the brackets back on?

Failing that i have found a few recon racks for a couple of hundred with warranty. I guess the C70 rack is the same as the V70 and are interchangable? There is a destinct shortage of C racks available but shed loads of V type!

Euro Car Parts list them as different part numbers.

ive looked EVERYWHERE but not even racks second hand from scrappys seem available so Im left to strip the car down and remove the rack - buy a Mig welder and fix it myself so may as well recon it with new seals etc.

Does anyone know theOEM part number for the c70 rack please? Eurocarparts have their own numbers so no good. I have found a supplier but need to match numbers.

Failing that I am TRYING to find any company that recons steering racks, to no avail ☹️

Just did a quick Google search for power steering refurbishment and plenty of people pop up and offer a collection and delivery service.

For future reference, I find Skandix really useful for confirming OE part numbers. You can enter your VIN to make sure you see only the right parts.
