    850 t5 remap

    How can you tell if an 850 t5 has been mapped? i have bought an 850 t5 auto with an invoice saying it has been mappped but i do not think it is has- how could i tell if it has?

    Probably no way to tell for sure, except drive two cars back to back and see how they feel - put it on a rolling road, and check the boost level. If it goes off the white bit of the gauge (and is accurate!!) then its been mapped. Os swap out the ECu for a known to be standard one.

    Boost is three quaters of the way into the white on gauge, so likely to be standard.

    Yeah - probably. Assuming all hoses and everything else is all in order. The ECU controls the boost solenoid and dumps off pressure according to the prgrammed paramters. Hose leaks, splits, stuck valves etc can all conribite to boost losses no matter what the ECU is saying.

    Its like a litle Orchestra - if they are all in tune, its marvellous - get the odd fiddle or trunpet thats out of tune, its crap!!
