    Hi all
Had this a while now and thought i had better get on it
the unfortunate jaguar 2002 4.0 sc xjr 308 cane along mechanically sound but tin worm had had a busy time on the body, and was deemed uneconomical to repair
quite a lively old bus 370 bhp 380lb ft toque with a merc 5 speed box.
as a friend of mine had offered me the volvo in a deal with some other stuff, got to thinking a quick look at the engine bay monstrous space that v8 jag would look good in there me thinks! 2 painstaking weeks stripping the jag and thinning the loom to a minimum so it can still run engine and gearbox still a big box of wiring tho, got the engine and gear box fitted fabricated mounts, using a 940 turbo prop fits both ends just need shortening 40 mm
wondered if any one else on here has fitted a jag engine as they are available in all shapes and sizes for not very much
any input or ideas greatly appreciated

Hi few more pics off to get prop shortened tomorrow will also get a 16 toothed wheel just behind the front joint this is needed for gear box ecu to know road speed the jag has 3.06 diff 48 tooth abs pick up divided by 3 ish. road speed taken from back wheels (3 turns of prop to 1 of road wheel) the gearbox ecu knows the in and out shaft speed and compares it to the road speed if it don't like what it sees it defaults to limp mode this could be the hardest bit to get right

the good thing is the bulkhead has a huge plate that can be removed makes life a bit easier, removed the volvo wiring loom as well
the old bullet fuse box has seen better days i might remake a simplified one with the basics.
dont know what state a 1988 volvo is usually like rot wise this one seems quiet good apart from a 2 inch hole under the rear seat and same in inner rear wheel arch the other issues are fuel tank it dont fit in the boot, it is a twin immersed pump type i may cut the top out and make small a swirl pot tank with the pumps inside fed from the old tank ecu gets upset if different pumps are used as they are pwm type ,and the radiator is to tall i have a 850 r one so i may try to fit thatName: DSC_0079.JPG

    Thanks for that Claymore
Have been busy lately and have not had time to do much a quick update
the main problem i had was a gear box ratio fault due to the diff ratio the jag was a 3.06 and the volvo i believe is a 4.27
the internal speedo pickup on the diff is 48 tooth same as the jag abs rings due to axle ratio the difference is to much and the gear box ecu assumes there is clutch slipping internally and fail safe is set, so i figured 48 divided by 3 roughly 16 teeth on prop should do it, set about the diff flange with a file and grinderName: IMG-20170912-WA0001.jpeg

Size: 715.7 KB added a 850 rear abs sensor on a small bracket it seems happy and gearbox works ok think i will have to find a 3.6 diff or there abouts at a later date ,Name: DSC_0007_9.JPG
