    Bloody hell... Hello stranger!

They're pretty underpowered, but passable with a manual 'box. (Father in law has one)
With an auto, they're pretty slow. (Test drove one but couldn't stand it)
Real world economy isn't far off a T5 either tbh as you have to work them pretty hard.

They map pretty well though and tiny turbo has almost no lag.

    Ragtop or coupe?

IMO, shedloads of power doesn't suit the convertible with them being... Erm... Wobbly.
I have a 2.4t ragtop and I wouldn't really want any more. Pretty sure it's been mapped though.

    Hiya mate!
    Still lurking in the background.
After reading the stats & spec it's not much different to a t5 with regards to mpg & road tax price. I didn't realise they were 5 cylinder or the one I'm looking at is down as 5cyl.
I thought it would be a t4 engine?
It's a coupe, looks really nice condition but after reading I think I will be disappointed after the last t5 I had.
You never know depending on what I find I may be back.
I've got an empty space on my drive, money burning a hole through my Levi's & cant find anything!
On a plus note I've still not heard anything from old bill after 7 months so bit unsure whether I'm being prosecuted. This is the reason I've started looking at turbocharged Swedish bricks again. Lol
    Hope your well Steve?

Not so bad Dave, same old! You and your lot good?

XC90 bombed at Christmas. Still got it like. Read up on the hilarious alternator saga!
From memory, you were toying with a '90. Ended up with a Verso I think?

Yeah, all the P80 cars are 5-pots.
Give the 2.0 a whirl, but tbh I think you'd be disappointed after a T5. 180bhp standard and map to 210 with a stage 1
2.4t is a good compromise at 190-odd and maps to standard T5 power, but if you're going for a coupé then a T5 is probably what you really want!

Hope your licence stays in your pocket Mate!

    Money burning a hole, huh?
Could I interest Sir in something with a few more cylinders?!

You know me my car choice is as random as they come! Lol
    What have you got?
Yeah tribe all fine, the verso is doing its job just great & she's not likely to do monster jam as I had visions of her doing in the 90. Good times!
I'll have a read up, I did see it let you down for a city game.

Aye, that was a fun day

I'd sell the '90 for the right money.
Apart from that, I have an Escort van with cool blue Recaros? (Because I'm still 17 really)

Hi I've had a C70 2.0 lpt manual for two years now, and to and fro over the mountains north Wales. I think that I've only once briefly experienced this scuttle and shake that people talk about; that was after winding quickly through two rounder-bouts on the way towards Shrewsbury a couple of weeks back, however, it soon dispersed. Seemed more like axle wind-up. Besides that it doesn't seem slow to me.

That's because the roads in Gwynedd and surrounding area are a lot better than the rest of the country lol.
I was just doing some work for 4 days about a month ago and couldn't believe how nice the roads were.

Best way I can describe the scuttle shake when it's really bad...

Imagine the steering wheel is a dinner plate you're holding in front of you.
When you hit a nice few potholes in a row, it's like someone violently shaking that dinner plate from side to side.
Quite unnerving if you've never experienced it before.

yep, coming from a Phaeton which was the most torsional rigid car made at the time to the C70 cab was a shock.. Mine is in today for a towbar and strut brace fitting ( would do it myself but got some family stuff that's taking all my time for the next month at least ). I'm hoping for a decent improvement. it doesn't spoil the joy of the car itself but its quite disconcerting if you aren't used to it.

Well,he only managed to get the towbar on as an emergency came in ( and for the hourly rate he charges me I really can't complain) and already it feels a whole world away from what it was previously. I may try and find the 10 mins needed to put the strut brace on myself this weekend. A great cheap mod if there ever was one and also gives that little extra protection from the park by touch people.

Well I've never experienced anything like that, I'll keep touching the wood trim.

Spawned66, Did you go on the A494 Shrewsbury to Bala and, A487 Bala to Porthmadog at all?

It's not so much different county, as different country lol.

entwisi, so if I fit a towbar and strut brace, my C70 will drive even better. So how much do each cost?

    Potholes:
Well some bright spark in the council though it would be a really great idea to put the P sign right on the entrance to some lay-bys. First time going to Bala from Porthmadog passed four of these and decided to dive into the next one. Someone right behind me, bend, P sign in I went wacking grate pothole too late to avoid BANG!! I thought something had broke.
Happened again coming back the other direction 04:30 early morning. and again no damage.

I managed to get the towbar for 50 quid off ebay and the strut brace for the same from a local volvo indie/breaker. Cost me 60 quid to get fitted.. I could have done it myself but I'm at a point where I'm time poor so I'd rather pay a little rather than it sit in my garage unfitted for months.
