    850r aircon belt

    Hi all,

Is it possible to put a fanbelt from a none air-conditioned t5 engine on to an air-conditioned t5 engine leaving the air-conditioning pump/compresser still in place?
What I am unsure of is will the normal heating still work? At the moment when I slide the heater control to the on position from 0,(ecc unit) i am getting squeeling from the a/c compresser and the car cuts out, it does not matter if the a/c is switched on or off it will still cut out once the heater slide switch is on, absolutly fine in the 0 position,
Something is a miss with the compresser not sure what,

    Craig

Sounds like the compressor has seized up .
Just unplug the electric fitting on it , this will stop the clutch from coming on when the heater asks for it.
Long term, if you are not going to fix it , you could remove the a/c stuff and fit a non a/c belt.
