Found a local powder coater so I thought I'd give them a try, The parts came back perfect so much so I've dropped some more parts to be powder coated. Also picked up new brgs for the diff and some seals for the angle gear.

Started rebuilding the rear suspension and test fitted the exhaust which looks to have plenty of clearance.

    That powder coating looks fab!

Should give them some extra protection for a while.

What's the diff from and why?

The diff is from a s60r

I've had to use the s60r one as the xc70 diff has larger drive shafts and a 47 splinde collar (s60r, v70 awd & 850 awd use a 45 splinde collar)

It's been a busy day. Got the M66 hybrid gearbox all back together. Modified the subframe so the C70 subframe brace would fit, just waiting for the rear brace so it can modified for the AWD centre brg support.

nice update Rob, the subframe brace should stiffen things up a fair bit, not something I knew about but worth considering for my Olive at some point, probably when she goes to solid mounts in the near future.

Coming on nicely Rob, how much was it to powdercoat the front subframe? I've got to change the steering rack on the V70R, so might be worth doing whilst it's off.

Had a very productive day, the awd conversion is going to plan. The only hiccup was all 4 shock top mount captive nuts broke off, had to cut the mount into pieces to get at the bolts.

Tomorrow job is to weld the 4 fixings to the frame legs as rain stopped play today.

    Awesome work Rob

Now you have the rear subframe in, I have a question for you:
Do you think its possible to run FWD but using the rear subframe to get rid of the Delta link?

I was thinking of doing the same with my AWD, just removing all the diff and running the multilink on it's own. The only issue I can see is the loss in weight impacting on how the rear suspension works (will it ride higher?)
