    Running hot?

    I've just put the T5 back on the road after about 8 months, and when I took it in for an MOT I noticed the temp gauge was only around a quarter of the way up for the entire journey, coupled with low teens MPG. So I stuck a new T-stat and temp sensor in it for a piece of mind, but now it seems to be getting a good three quarters up the gauge, like borderline where the fan kicks in. MPG's have settled though!

    Any ideas? Had a nightmare getting the connection apart for the temp sensor so most of the coolant had drained by the time I was done, could it have air in the system? I'm sure I read somewhere they were a self bleeding system. If you pop the bonnet after a drive it looks as if the little hose from the T-stat housing is constantly bleeding off into the expansion tank as well.
